Financing Of Far-Right U.S. Christian Group Tied To Kremlin

The Kremlin has been connected to far-right U.S. Christian group, the World Congress of Families (WCF).

According to Think Progress, a financing scandal has connected the Kremlin to far-right U.S. Christian group, the World Congress of Families (WCF). This comes after revelations that Russia is funding far-right groups in Europe.

The WCF has been a liaison between Christian fundamentalists and Russians for years, helping to bring its anti-LGBTQ ideas and policies to Russia. In return, the WCF receives financial support from Russian officials and oligarchs, such as sanctioned oligarch Konstantin Malofeev and former Russian Railways chief Vladimir Yakunin. Russian Duma member Yelena Mizulina was a featured speaker the the WCF annual conference last year.

WCF Russian representative Alexey Komov, who works for the sanctioned oligarch Malofeev, has served as a link between Russia and various far-right organizations in America. These organizations include the Home School Legal Defense Association and Movieguide, the top American Christian film organization.
