Ex-GOP Consultant From Las Vegas Arrested In Atlanta Rape Case
Republican consultant Benjamin Sparks was arrested Tuesday in connection with an alleged rape in Atlanta, after charges against him for allegedly sexually enslaving and assaulting his former fiancee were dropped in Las Vegas last year.
“A Georgia woman reported that Sparks, who lives in Texas, raped her at an Airbnb last month after the two met on a dating app," the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
- Dawn Marie Budway, who has publicly shared her allegations and called for Sparks’ arrest on social media, says Spark’s assaulted her after the two connected via Tinder and met twice at Atlanta bars.
- After meeting at a bar to watch football on Sept. 27, they returned to Sparks’ Airbnb loft apartment, where Budway claims he raped her.
- Budway reported the alleged rape to police and went to the emergency room on Sept. 28, where she told her story to a police officer, as well as a nurse, a doctor and a special victims detective.
[Sparks] faces charges of rape, battery with substantial physical harm and simple battery, according to Fulton County Jail records. He is being held without bail, according to court records.
Last year, prosecutors in Las Vegas dismissed four counts of second-degree kidnapping and one count of sexually motivated coercion against Sparks.
He had been accused of sexually enslaving and assaulting his former fiancee.”
