EUROPEAN LEADERS TO TRUMP: THE CLIMATE AGREEMENT IS NOT RE-NEGOTIABLE

European leaders have told President Donald Trump that they will not renegotiate the Paris Climate Agreement.

Italy, France, and Germany all rejected President Trump’s calls for a new negotiation.

The Paris Climate Agreement “a cornerstone in the cooperation between our countries, for effectively and timely tackling climate change,” all three countries said in a joint statement. The statement continued, ” [the agreement] is irreversible and we firmly believe that the Paris agreement cannot be renegotiated.”

German Chancellor Angela Merkel said she regrets the United State’s decision to leave the agreement but that Germany would continue its effort to save “our planet”.

Belgium’s Prime Minister called President Trump’s withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement a “Brutal Act“.
