Emboldened By His Attorney General’s Report, Trump Criticizes Media

President Trump attacks the media for reporting on Russian collusion.

According to The Hill, President Trump attacked “Mainstream Media” on Tuesday following Attorney General William Barr’s summary of special counsel Roberty Mueller’s investigation. Mueller concluded that there was no evidence of collusion between Trump and Russia during the 2016 election.

Trump tweeted: "The Mainstream Media is under fire and being scorned all over the World as being corrupt and FAKE. For two years they pushed the Russian Collusion Delusion when they always knew there was No Collusion," he tweeted. "They truly are the Enemy of the People and the Real Opposition Party!"

Conservatives celebrated Mueller’s conclusions and have begun to attack the media for wrongly reporting on the collusion. CNN’s Brian Selter asked critics not to blame the media for making mistakes in the story.

“Don’t be fooled by the partisans who cherry pick the worst mistakes of individual journalists or the craziest ideas from commentators and claim that’s the entire media,” Stelter said. “It’s not.”

Barr’s summary was unclear on the issue of obstruction of justice. He said that the investigation is making no decisions on that count, but that does not “exonerate” the president.
