Dinesh D’Souza: Kamala Harris Can’t Claim To Be ‘African-American’
Dinesh D'Souza has stated on a Fox News segment that Kamala Harris can't claim to be "African-American"
A guest on Fox News has questioned Sen. Kamala Harris’ (D-CA) ability to claim that she is “African-American,” according to Media Matters.
- Appearing on The Ingraham Angle on Tuesday, Dinesh D’Souza claimed that Joe Biden’s VP pick couldn’t claim to be “African-American” because her ancestry includes a legacy of slave ownership.
- He stated:
“African-American in the American context generally means having a direct relationship to the experiences of slavery and segregation and Jim Crow so on. Very interestingly, Kamala Harris' father, Donald, a Stanford professor, wrote an article in a Jamaican magazine several years ago, claiming, in fact sort of boasting, that he was descended from the largest slave owner, slave owner in Jamaica, one of the largest slave owners in Jamaica, a fellow named Hamilton Brown.”
- D’Souza also states that Biden picked Harris for Vice President in a game of “identity politics.”
