Democrats Maintain 11-Point Lead On 2020 Generic Congressional Ballot
Americans prefer to see Democrats hold onto their majority in Congress, according to a new Economist/YouGov poll.
The Hill reported that the survey found 49 percent of respondents said they would vote Democrat in the 2020 election, while 38 percent indicated plans to vote Republican.
That number dropped among the ever-important Independents, however, with whom Democrats managed a mere 1 percent lead over Republicans.
And Democrats lost their advantage among white respondents, who landed Republican with a split of 45 percent to 42 percent; however, among black survey takers, 80 percent said they plan to vote Democrat next year.
Almost a quarter of Independents said they were currently undecided on how they will vote in the 2020 election.
