Drug Enforcement Agency officials raided the home of former celebrity psychiatrist Dr. Keith Ablow on Thursday, according to Boston 25 News.
The local news outlet reported that Ablow’s medical license was revoked last year after allegations that he engaged in inappropriate sexual activity with patients and illegally provided prescriptions to his employees.
DEA agents confirmed to Boston 25 News that they “executed a court-authorized search warrant as part of an on-going investigation,” which was focused on Ablow’s home office.
A witness who saw the raid take place said he saw federal authorities leave with numerous taped boxes.
“I figured someone in there is not having a good day at all, it was quite a strong presence and it was multiple agencies," the man, who wished to remain anonymous, told the news outlet.. “I did see computer screens and a couple of large flat boxes, like pictures of something sealed and put in the pickup.”
The former Fox News contributor settled a civil malpractice lawsuit last year after allegations of sexual misconduct with patients surfaced, but Ablow remains without his medical license.
One of his former patients claimed in the lawsuit that Ablow told her such things as, “I own you,” and “You are my slave.”
Ablow’s attorneys did not respond to a request for comment on the raid.
In the past, Ablow has made bizarre anti-LGBT comments, such as his assertion that same-sex marriage would result in legalized polygamy and humans marrying dogs.
