Daily Caller: '43% Of Evangelicals Approve Of Trump’s Removal From Office'

The poll was conducted on Dec. 19-20, just as Christianity Today published its editorial calling for Trump's removal.

The Daily Caller, founded by Fox News host Tucker Carlson, reported last week that new polling shows 43 percent of evangelical voters approve of removing President Donald Trump from office.

The Politico/Morning Consult poll asked 1,387 likely voters if they would “approve or disapprove of the Senate removing President Trump from office?”

Among all would-be voters, the Daily Caller noted that “42% of voters strongly approve of Trump’s removal, 9% somewhat approve, 4% somewhat disapprove, and 38% strongly disapprove.”

Among evangelicals, “34% would strongly approve of the president’s removal, 9% somewhat approve, 4% somewhat disapprove, and 49% strongly disapprove.”

The poll was conducted on December 19-20, just as Christianity Today’s editor-in-chief published a blistering editorial calling for Trump’s removal from office. The magazine, founded by the late Rev. Billy Graham, is popular among conservative Christians.

Trump responded to the editorial via tweet, writing: “I guess the magazine, ‘Christianity Today,’ is looking for Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, or those of the socialist/communist bent, to guard their religion. How about Sleepy Joe?”

“The fact is, no President has ever done what I have done for Evangelicals, or religion itself!” Trump said.
