Coronavirus Stimulus Bill Bans Bailouts For Businesses Owned By Trump Family

The package bans the president, Cabinet secretaries, members of Congress and their families from benefiting.

According to The Daily Beast, the $2 trillion stimulus deal agreed to by the White House and Senate leaders on Wednesday bans all companies controlled by President Donald Trump and his children from receiving loans or investments contained in the package.

First reported by Bloomberg, the deal “specifically states that businesses owned by the president, heads of Cabinet-level agencies, and members of Congress are excluded from receiving aid,” The Daily Beast said, and it also extends to the children, spouses and in-laws of those individuals.

The report noted that a number of Trump’s properties are suffering under the coronavirus crisis, with several having “shut their doors or seen demand for their services all but disappear as the coronavirus pandemic spreads around the world.”
