A white woman later claimed she was threatened because the Black woman argued with her when being asked to leave.

A North Hollywood Lutheran church has come under fire this week for reportedly hanging a “no trespassing” sign above a Black woman sitting under a tree on the church’s grounds, according to Raw Story.

  • The incident occurred at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The woman asks, “Am I not welcome here?”
  • The man hanging the sign states that the church grounds are private property.
  • When asked if she was welcome in the church he says no and adds, “We have a lot of problems with people here from the park vandalizing and we don’t want anybody on the private property. You want to stay on the sidewalk? That’s okay. The mayor says you can have all the sidewalk you want. But you can’t be on the grass.”
  • After, he tells her “All Lives Matter.” The phrase has been frequently used as a dog whistle by racists to stand against the Black Lives Matter movement.
  • A white woman then accuses the Black woman of threatening her life.

“How am I threatening your life?” the woman sitting in the grass asks.

“Because you’re arguing with us,” the white woman insists.

My late brother, when talking about the state of the general public, used to label them as “carrots,” meaning possessing no meaningful thought, no useful cognition, no common sense, just a thing in the ground. These are the carrot people he meant. The painful thing is many of them are the boomer generation, my generation. Boomers were supposed to be somewhat enlightened. I’m sorry to say that after working at the same pointless jobs for 30 years, watching a steady diet of “reality” TV shows, and attending cult evangelist churches, these carrots have actually regressed to the point where they think they are political conservatives and actions like this are mandated by society and God. They are so lost no one will even miss them when they’re dead and gone. However, our culture will sure improve.

...grew up in a Lutheran home, attended a Lutheran grade school and church (Wisconsin Synod), and I was taught to be kind to all people, not be judgemental or prejudiced/. Christ had taught us to be, benevolent, accepting, and loving, and to not harbour hate or malice.

Extremely disappointed and saddened by such behaviour as this particular church condoned

Smart people learn from everyone and everything.
Average people learn from their own experiences.
Stupid people think they know all that’s to be known.

This is so disgusting to watch that someone would go purchase a sign at the store that says No Trespassing, because that is what the police say needs to be there in order to have this woman leave. I send support to the woman who had to film these ignorant people. I don't understand how the church people can't see the paradox of being at a church and not being welcoming in the same breath. I hope this video gets shared to many and they get some backlash from their community or church.

So now a single black person sitting on the grass is a BLM protest and a possible threat to passers by. Get a life you ignorant POS.

Well, after having watched the video, it looks to me like they were both in the wrong. She appears to have been testing them from the start, but the way they responded, and the words the men used are completely opposite of who Christ is. I understand they have had problems on their property, but to say that she is not welcome there, and that if people are mean to them they’re going to be mean back. So much for turning the other cheek, and loving your enemies as Jesus taught. They are frustrated, but they are definitely not portraying true Christianity.

I think that anytime that there is a No Trespassing sign on church property aimed at the public there is a problem.
