A statue of Christopher Columbus in Boston was surrounded by crime scene tape on Wednesday morning after it was beheaded, according to local news station WGME.
- The head of the statue in Christopher Columbus Park on Atlantic Avenue was seen laying on the ground.
- The same statue was vandalized in 2015, according to the report, when it was painted with the words “Black Lives Matter.”
- WGME noted that “There has been a push across the nation to get rid of the Columbus Day holiday in October and replace it with Indigenous Peoples' Day.”
