Tony Perkins praised the president for ending anti-racism training that the White House called "un-American."

Tony Perkins, who heads the Family Research Council, praised President Donald Trump in an email this week for ending anti-racism training, saying Trump was making good on his promise to “Drain the Swamp.”

President Trump took another step toward fulfilling his promise to “Drain the Swamp” on Friday when he authorized Office of Management and Budget Director Russell Vought to ensure that federal agencies no longer hold “woke” re-education trainings.

The memo directs agency heads to “cease and desist from using taxpayer dollars to fund these divisive, un-American propaganda training sessions.”

The White House memo also disparaged the “division and resentment” engendered by critical race theory. Instead of celebrating the diversity of race, ethnicity, and religion in America, the doctrine seeks to paint some as evil oppressors and others as innocent oppressed.

The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has designated FRC as an anti-LGBTQ hate group and notes that Perkins “has a sordid political history, having once purchased Klansman David Duke’s mailing list for use in a Louisiana political campaign he was managing.”
