67-year-old John McFarland was arrested for 11 felonies related to child sex abuse.

According to local news station KTLA, a California pastor has been arrested again and charged with 11 felonies related to the molestation of seven children as young as five years old.

John Rodgers McFarland has been charged with “seven counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor under 14 years old, and four counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor between 14 and 15, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.”

The 67-year-old pleaded not guilty on Monday to the charges that could land him up to 179 years behind bars. His bail has been set at $2 million.

McFarland had been arrested previously after a girl reported alleged sexual abuse in December, the Fountain Valley Police Department reports. An inquiry into that case revealed “evidence that McFarland abused other victims.”

Investigators suspect that the head pastor at the Fullerton Orangethorpe United Methodist Church abused children between 2003 and 2017, during which time he also served as pastor at houses of worship in Orange and San Diego counties.
