Bush WH Ethics Chief: Trump Is Going To Be Impeached


Former chief ethics lawyer Richard W. Painter said the impeachment process has already begun in the House.

Those who are not on board with impeaching President Donald Trump have no respect for the U.S. Constitution, a former White House ethics lawyer said this week, adding that the impeachment process is already happening.

Richard W. Painter, who served as chief ethics lawyer under President George W. Bush, dropped the comment in a Wednesday tweet.

Along with his commentary, Painter tweeted a clip of House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nader questioning Trump associate Corey Lewandowski, in what proved a contentious congressional hearing.

House Democrats are in the process of holding hearings to determine whether or not to impeach the president, The Independent noted, though Democratic leadership has struck a decidedly colder tone on the issue.

Trump will not face actual impeachment until the House holds a vote on articles of impeachment and a majority are in favor.
