The Hill has reported that for the third year in a row, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will deliver his own response to Trump’s State of the Union. His response will follow Trump’s address and the Democratic rebuttal. It will be streamed on Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter.
Sanders has often responded to Trump’s addresses. He delivered a response to Trump’s border security speech last month, and he’s responded to previous speeches to Congress.
Sanders, an Independent who caucuses with Democrats, will deliver his response after the official Democratic Party response is delivered by former Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.
The Spanish-language Democratic response will be delivered by California Attorney General Xavier Becerra.
Sanders is now deciding whether or not he will run for president in 2020. He could be joining as many as 30 other candidates for the position, including Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).
