Trump doubled down on his attack against Marie Yovanovitch, claiming he is "allowed to speak up" on the matter.

President Donald Trump suggested on Friday that his tweet attacking former Ukraine Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch during her impeachment hearing testimony was simply "speaking up" in his own defense — not witness intimidation.

In Trump’s mind, he is always the victim, despite always being the perpetrator:

"I'm allowed to speak up. In the history of our country, there has never been a disgrace like what's going on right now," he told reporters.
