At U.N., Nikki Haley Praises Israel For Showing ‘Restraint’ Against Palestinians

"No country in this chamber would act with more restraint than Israel has," Nikki Haley said Tuesday.

Addressing the United Nations Security Council in the wake of at least 58 Palestinian deaths and thousands of injuries by Israeli gunfire Monday, U.S. ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley said Israel had shown “restraint” in confronting the protesters and insisted that any other country would respond in the same fashion.

The Israeli Defence Forces have accused Hamas – a militant Palestinian group – of “leading a terrorist operation under the cover of masses of people” and placed blame for the deaths at its feet.

Haley joined the IDF in its conclusion, saying Hamas was “pleased with the results from yesterday”.
