Russia sent two nuclear-capable strategic bombers for a 10-hour training mission over the Caribbean Sea last week.

As President Donald Trump was tweeting last Monday that “Democrats can’t find a Smocking Gun” tying his campaign to Russia, two nuclear-capable Russian bombers landed in Venezuela to prepare for a 10-hour training mission over the Caribbean Sea, according to The Associated Press.

A pair of Tu-160 bombers arrived at Maiquetia airport outside Caracas Monday. The Russian Defense Ministry said they were escorted by Venezuelan fighter jets during part of the training mission on Wednesday to practice interaction.

The Tu-160 is capable of carrying conventional or nuclear-tipped cruise missiles with a range of 5,500 kilometers (3,410 miles).

During the hours-long Russian training mission on Wednesday, Trump was again busy on Twitter urging House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to give him full funding for his border wall and recommending Americans watch first lady Melania Trump’s Fox News interview with Sean Hannity.
