Anti-Crime Republican Allegedly Stole 279 items from Target

Danielle Stella, the Minnesota Republican looking to unseat Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D-MN), has been arrested twice this year for shoplifting, according to the Guardian. Stella is running on an anti-crime message.
Stella was arrested twice this year, once for stealing $2,000 worth of merchandise (279 items) from a Target store in the Minneapolis suburbs, and another time for stealing $40 worth of goods from a local grocery.
Stella has attracted media attention due to her devotion to the Q-Anon conspiracy, which posits that John F. Kennedy, Jr. did not die in 1999, and is secretly living in Pennsylvania.
Stella, who is running on an anti-crime message, described Minneapolis last week as the “the crime capital of our country” (which is a lie) and the local police were "overburdened".
When the Guardian asked Stella via text message about her criminal charges, Stella proclaimed her innocence.
Stella said: “I am not guilty of these crimes. In this country I am innocent until proven guilty and that is the law.” She added: “If I was guilty of crimes, I would never run for public office, putting myself in the public eye under a microscope to be attacked by all political sides.”
An attorney for Stella, Joshua London, declined to comment.
