Democrat Ashley Bennett was so angered by a politician's sexism that she ended up winning his seat.

A New Jersey politician who shared a meme on Facebook during January's Women's March in Washington asking whether the protest would be "over in time for them to cook dinner" is eating his words. A woman who was angered by Republican John Carman's remarks on Tuesday defeated his bid for a second term as an Atlantic County freeholder.

The Republican behind the sexist meme never genuinely apologize. He later wore a confederate flag pin.

Carman said the meme was "a bad choice" but said the women in his life were "strong and confident" enough to not be offended by his joke. He apologized a few days later. He later drew more criticism for wearing a confederate flag patch.

With the recent elections in Virginia where multiple women ran for seats in their local elections and won, I couldn't be happier. Women in this country are about to rescue the Republic, I have no doubt. As women, especially in the family dynamic, subjects such a finances, education, and health issues were, and have been, a large part of what they were responsible for within a family. Who better than to face and steward these problem legislation's in our political world. Women, I feel, are our next best hope. "Go Ladies!!"
