NC GOP Calls Surprise Budget Vote While Democrats Attend 9/11 Commemoration


With about half of members present, state House Republicans called a vote to override the governor's budget veto

After previously assuring state House Democrats that no major votes would be held on the morning of 9/11, North Carolina Republicans called a surprise vote to override Governor Roy Cooper's (D) budget veto.

ABC11's Jonah Kaplan noted on Twitter that barely half the members were present for the vote.
