73% Of Americans Believe NATO Is Essential To The Security Of The United States


By comparison, only a quarter of Americans said that NATO is no longer essential for U.S. security.

Nearly three-quarters of Americans say that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization is essential to the security of the United States, according to The Chicago Council.

Just 25 percent say the military alliance is no longer essential.

President Donald Trump has threatened to withdraw from NATO in the past, complaining that other countries in the alliance have not kept up with the spending goals he had set.
