The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained, but the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite fell on Wednesday, according to CNBC.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 36.78 points, or 0.1 percent, to close at 28,032.38.
  • The S&P 500 fell 0.5 percent to close at 3,385.49.
  • The Nasdaq Composite fell 1.25 percent to close at 11,050.47.

Major tech shares pulled back and dragged down the overall market. Shares of Apple fell 2.9 percent, Microsoft fell 1.8 percent, Facebook fell 3.3 percent, and Amazon fell 2.5 percent.

The market was also pricing in the Fed's decision to keep rates low for the foreseeable future.
