Americans are continuing to file for unemployment benefits as the coronavirus pandemic keeps the US economy halted, according to The Wall Street Journal.

On Thursday, the Labor Department reported that 6.6 million additional people applied for unemployment benefits. Last week, 6.9 million people applied for unemployment and 3.3 million applied the week before.

Numbers from 2009 have been blown away by current unemployment numbers. The number is expected to continue growing as the number of claims lags behind application data.

Americans are feeling less confident in the economy.
