The stock market and the overall economy are decoupled. While stocks may be performing well, regular Americans are going hungry.

As a society, the United States needs more balance. We cannot have the top .1% live like an aristocracy as the rest of the nation is barely scraping by. Income and wealth inequality are probably the most destabilizing influences on the United States.
