Leaders of the countries that are part of the G-7 are headed for a tense clash of ideas at the French Summit, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Group of Seven summits have turned into controversial clashes of ideology and political goals in recent years. The seven powerful nations are divided on almost every issue they are set to discuss this Saturday at the three-day summit. The summit on the French coast at the resort Biarritz will discuss tensions over Iran’s nuclear programs and the US’s trade war with China.

New British Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is making his first appearance at the summit is threatening to finally pull the UK out of the European Union at the end of October.

“We’re facing a historic challenge to the world order,” French President Emmanuel Macron, who is hosting the summit, told reporters.

The summit’s working sessions will begin on a strong note Sunday morning by discussing the global economy.
