The Dow Jones Industrial Average barely closed in the green, while the S&P 500 closed positive and the Nasdaq surged on Monday, according to CNBC.
- The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 8.92 points, or 0.03 percent, to close at 26,680.87.
- The S&P 500 gained 0.84 percent to close at 3,251.84.
- The Nasdaq Composite gained 2.51 percent to close at 10,767.09.
Amazon shares surged 8 percent after an analyst from Goldman Sachs raised his price target to $3,800 per share. Shares of other big tech companies surged as well. Microsoft gained 4.30 percent, Netflix, Alphabet, and Google all closed with at least 1.4 percent gains.
Pfizer and BioNTech reported positive data on a joint coronavirus vaccine candidate. Oxford University and AstraZeneca also reported a positive immune response from their vaccine candidate. Lawmakers in the US also started talks regarding a new stimulus package.
Tomorrow, Snap and Coca-Cola will report earnings for the second quarter.
