Schonfeld Strategic Advisors, a hedge fund started by billionaire trader Steven Schonfeld, has bold plans for the future, according to Business Insider.
The hedge fund was quick to adopt algo-trading and now has 75 portfolio managers across the world. The company has only been open to outside investors for three years.
"Our goal is to be the premier equities hedge fund globally," said Ryan Tolkin, Schonfeld's chief investment officer.
Schonfeld was known in the 80s for using a legion of traders to essentially do quant trading by hand. Now, the company has 75 hedge fund portfolio managers across the world. The fund is outperforming most of its better-known peers based in Chicago, Greenwich, and Stamford.
While many funds lost money last year, Schonfeld posted a return of 16% last year.
