Israel, The Start-Up Nation of The World
Tel Aviv, Israel is known for its thriving tech scene that attracts venture capitalists from around the world, according to The New York Times.
Tel Aviv hosts a large variety of start-up events like Cyber Week, focusing on cybersecurity, and Muni Expo, focusing on developing tech for smart cities. Furthermore, the best seller "Start-up Nation" was praising Israel's high-tech sector 10 years ago, and the industry hasn't skipped a beat.
Currently, Tel Aviv is attempting to become more inclusive. The region is mostly comprised of non-Orthodox Jewish men. The city wants to expand and diversify the Israeli tech sector. The city has also been attempting to increase its tourism with museums, boutique tours, and different events.
“Everyone knows that Israel is the Start-up Nation. Most people, both Israelis and internationals, don’t necessarily know why,” said Yarden Leal, deputy director general of The Peres Center for Peace & Innovation.
