All major US indexes posted significant gains on Monday, according to CNBC.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 459.67 points, or 1.78 percent, to close at 26,287.03.
  • The S&P 500 gained 1.59 percent to close at 3,179.72.
  • The Nasdaq Composite gained 2.21 percent to close at 10,443.65. Inc. and Netflix both hit record highs. Amazon surged 5.77 percent and eclipsed the $3,000 per share mark for the first time. Netflix surged 3.55 percent to $493.81.

Stocks rose despite global coronavirus cases continuing to surge. Concerns about the global economic recovery have resurfaced amid the resurgence. On Saturday, the World Health Organization reported that over 200,000 coronavirus cases were confirmed over 24 hours.

Job openings data is set to be released Tuesday morning.
