Here are the main market catalysts and closing values for the major US indexes on Friday, July 24, 2020.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite all fell on Thursday, according to CNBC.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 182.44 points, or 0.68 percent, to close at 26,469.89.
  • The S&P 500 fell 0.62 percent to close at 3,215.63.
  • The Nasdaq Composite fell 0.94 percent to close at 10,063.18.

Tech shares continued to give back gains. Facebook fell 0.81 percent and Alphabet fell 0.56 perfect. Microsoft, Tesla, and Apple also closed lower.

All of the major indexes fell this week. The S&P500 lost 0.28 percent, the Dow fell, and the Nasdaq slid 1.33 percent.

Investors are concerned about rising tensions between the US and China. Gold prices surged to an all-time closing high as the price per ounce settled at $1,897.50.

Hasbro and Albertsons are up next to report earnings.
