The Dow Jones Industrial Average, S&P 500, and the Nasdaq Composite posted gains on Friday, according to CNBC.

  • The Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 190.60 points, or 0.70 percent, to close at 27,930.33.
  • The S&P 500 gain 0.30 percent to close at 3,397.16.
  • The Nasdaq Composite rose 0.40 percent to close at 11,311.80.

IHS Markit data revealed that US manufacturing activity was at it highest level in 19 months, while services were at the highest level in 17 months. Furthermore, existing home sales surged 24.7 percent in July. The average price for a home hit an all-time high of $304, 100.

Apple shares surged 5 percent to a new all-time high, edging close to $500 per share. Deere also surged 4 percent after posting better-than-expected earnings.
