Facebook Extend Work-From-Home Through July 2021
On Thursday, Facebook announced that it will allow its employees to work from home through July 2021, according to CNBC.
“Based on guidance from health and government experts, as well as decisions drawn from our internal discussions about these matters, we are allowing employees to continue voluntarily working from home until July 2021,” a company spokesman said.
The company also announced that employees will receive an additional $1,000 bonus for home office needs. Earlier this year, the company gave employees an additional bonus when stay-at-home orders went into effect.
Facebook will proceed with reopening its offices in restricted capacities, despite employees being allowed to stay home. However, the company isn't expecting to open many offices in 2020.
Facebook's announcement follows Google's. Last month, Google announced that its employees had the option to work from home through the end of June 2021. In May, Twitter told employees they could work home for "forever."
