Beyond Meat Renews Partnership With Roquette For Three More Years
The announcement signifies the growing popularity that plant-based meat has recently had amongst consumers. The two companies have had a 10-year relationship. The announcement specifies that this partnership will continue in the future and the expanded supply of pea protein will carry on for the next three years.
Beyond Meat’s products rely on pea protein as its main ingredient and scaling up its supply from Roquette demonstrates its dedication to providing more offerings. Beyond Meat’s products include Beyond Burger, Beyond Beef and Beyond Sausage.
“Along with our supply chain partners, including Roquette, we are driving innovation and access to existing and new plant protein feedstocks as we provide consumers around the world with plant-based meats that delight taste buds while contributing to important health, climate, natural resource, and animal welfare goals,” said Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown.
Roquette has worked to expand its facilities in order to keep up with the growing pea protein demand. It has expanded its main pea protein producing facility in Vic-sur-Aisne and is building another facility in Manitoba, Canada. It will be the largest facility of its kind in the world once completed.
