Bank of America unveiled its top stocks for next year among the 11 S&P 500 sectors.

Bank of America recently released its top pick in each of the 11 sectors of the S&P 500. Three of them consumer staples winner Walmart , materials firm winner Vale and utility winner NextEra Energy are already beating both the S&P 500 and their sectors this year. The rest are 2020 underperformers, Airline winner Alaska Air is down 26% this year.

"These stocks align with themes in our 2021 year ahead," BOA noted in the report. Those themes are value stocks over growth, small stocks over large ones, cyclical stocks over defensive plus ESG.

Other Wall Street analysts like only 3 of BOS's picks: Energy winner Chevron (analyst predict a 16% upside), financial winner Allstate (dropped 6% this year, but predicted to jump 12% in 2021) and real estate winner Realty Income. Additionally, it might be smart to do a little extra research and be cautious of the other 8 as BOA saw a ton of losses with their 2020 picks.
