Acton Bowen, a youth pastor from Alabama, was given 1,008 years in prison and maximum fines of $840,000.

Alabama youth pastor Acton Bowen was sentenced to 1,008 years in prison on Friday for sexually abusing six boys, according to the Gadsden Times.

Bowen, who Friendly Atheist noted is an “evangelist, author, and public speaker with ties to failed Senate candidate and alleged child molester Roy Moore,” pleaded guilty to every charge he faced — including “multiple counts of second-degree sodomy, enticing a child for sex, traveling to meet a child for sex, facilitating travel of a child for sex and second-degree sexual abuse.”

Law enforcement officials believe the six boys are not Bowen’s only victims and suspect others will come forward with their stories as well.

Given the opportunity to speak in court, the youth pastor apologized to those he had harmed and claimed he had also been sexually abused as a child.

“The hurt that they feel, I understand,” Bowen said. “I understand it all too well.”

Bowen said he had prayed for the boys’ healing and was“humbling himself before the court, before the victims and before God.”

Along with the consecutive sentences totaling 1,008 years, maximum monetary fines of $840,000 were imposed, the Times reported.
