Televangelist: You Must Keep Tithing Even If You’ve Lost Your Job

“Whatever you do, don’t stop tithing! Don’t you stop sowing offerings," Kenneth Copeland told his followers.

During a time when American citizens are facing financial hardships related to the outbreak of the coronavirus, televangelist Kenneth Copeland reminded his flock that sending money to their church is of utmost importance.

In a clip provided by Friendly Atheist, Copeland begins by suggesting that being afraid of the coronavirus somehow reduces a person’s spiritual standing. He continues by describing a person losing their job and being afraid, a very plausible scenario that has happened and is likely to become more common in the U.S. as the outbreak continues.

Copeland then suggests one should not consider a job as their “source” because Jesus is their “source”, insinuating that a person need not fear anything if they lose their primary source of income.

“Fear of this coronavirus is faith in its ability to hurt you or kill you. The fear of “What are we gonna do? I’m getting laid off at work!” he said. “Hey! Your job’s not your source. If it is, you’re in trouble. Jesus is your source!”

“Whatever you do, don’t stop tithing! Don’t you stop sowing offerings,” Copeland pressed on, telling people to take their money to their church and put it under the door if need be.

During a time of crisis, peoples’ priorities may become more evident. Copeland has shown that one of his top priorities is getting paid.

Why does Jesus need our money?

I'm not religious. But I've studied the Bible from a historical standpoint. I keep thinking of the WWJD bracelets. From the information I gathered, if Jesus were real, I certainly don't think the thing he would be doing is trying to squeeze all his followers and put pressure on them to donate to him.

Instead of trying to squeeze every last penny they have out of their followers, these mega churches should be jumping in and saying "during this time of great need, how can we help?"

Says a man with a private jet. I both feel sad for those who believe he is providing any guidance, and enraged at this monster who wants his followers to eat Alpo so he can get richer. Who would Jesus screw? (financially, I mean)

Too bad he doesn’t read these stories and replies. This man is a Trump-supporting pig who cares only for himself and his situation. These are the churches that should be donating large sums for supplies and needs. None of these TV guys give a rat...they need to make payments on their mansions, their country club dues, multiple vehicle payments, on and on. We can only hope the tanking economy will destroy these hypocrites...

What a grade A dirt-bag, how about giving some of those millions to help people in need at a time like this. What would Jesus do?

For those that can still spare $$$ give in a way that helps their fellow man at this moment in time- Pick a hospital have their mailing info ready n buy a box of gloves and mask on line have them sent directly-Churches do help others with your offerings but I can’t vouch for this offensive character.

"Hey! Your job's not your source. Jesus is your source." If so, bill Jesus for your money. This guy is a CHINO, pure and simple: a CHristian In Name Only.

He owns multiple private airplanes, mansions and assorted other expensive toys. Has he visited the seriously ill, donated HIS money to help the unemployed, or paid the medical bills of the suffering families? No, because he uses his "religion" to his own profit. Jesus who?
