Report: Texas Pastor Arrested For Possession Of Child Pornography
Pastor Brett Monroe of Arlington, Texas, was arrested this week and charged with possession of child pornography, according to local news station CBS 11. His arrest was part of a joint effort by local police and the Department of Homeland Security.
Due to the circumstances of the case, officials were unable to offer many details, the news outlet reported. Monroe remained in the Tarrant County Jail on Friday on $15,000 bond, and all references to the pastor on the Heritage Baptist Church’s website have been removed.
The 38-year-old Monroe also volunteered at the Corey Academy of Fine Arts & Dual Language in the Arlington Independent School District, according to the report.
The school district said in a statement:
“To date, the district has not received any claims of inappropriate behavior from parents or students related to this individual. We encourage parents to talk to their children and report any suspicious behavior.
Prior to the arrest of the volunteer, the background check was clear.
The Arlington ISD will fully cooperate with the Arlington Police Department and any other law enforcement agencies should they require any information or resources from the district.”
