The Freedom From Religion Foundation has contacted the church regarding this issue, which it says violate U.S. tax law.

Living Way Ministries in Opelika, Alabama has caught the attention of the Freedom From Religion Foundation for a sign on its premises urging people to vote for Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore. The organization believes the sign runs afoul of the Johnson Amendment, a provision of the U.S. tax code that bars churches and other organizations from political campaigning.

While leaders of churches or religious organizations may express their opinions on political matters as individuals, they are precluded from making "partisan comments in official organization publications or at official functions of the organization."
