The Gun Violence Reporter is a new site seeking solutions to the epidemic of homicide by gunfire in the United States.

Coverage will focus on evidence-based gun violence reduction strategies, including intervention programs, economic justice, criminal justice reform and legislative solutions, as well as what individuals, organizations and communities are doing to make a difference.

Editor Jim MacMillan is a Pulitzer Prize-winning multimedia journalist who covered nearly 2,000 shooting scenes during his 17 years with the Philadelphia Daily News and who later founded and edited the Gun Crisis Reporting Project, an award-winning nonprofit hyperlocal news organization focused on violence in Philadelphia.
