New York Successfully Preventing Gun Violence By Working With Youth, Their Community

This is an opinion piece by Stephanie Ueberall, director of violence prevention with the Citizens Crime Commission of New York City:

"Across New York state there are 35-plus community-based organizations restlessly and relentlessly working to stop shootings and killings. What distinguishes these organizations from many others is their staffs’ lived experiences – experiences with street violence, incarceration, oppression, violent victimization and others that drive gun violence. These are credible messengers."
