IndyStar keeps online database of local homicide victims

Containing every criminal homicide investigation opened by Indianapolis detectives

Not every news organization does the greatest job of naming every victim of homicide in their community.

But IndyStar, the website associated with the Indianapolis Star, identifies each victim in an online database that also includes the date and location of the incident and the victim's race, sex, and age, plus weapon and method used.

And there's a link if there is a related news report.

So far, they have named 19 of the 20 victims in the 2019 database.

You can also view the 2018 database, where all 159 victims are identified.

The Star also has an online newsletter focused on solutions to gun violence called The Toll. You can subscribe for free.
