People take advantage of laws that they dont agree with all the time. Also that's not the aspect of the ACA that people have a problem with. The problem I have with the ACA is government forcing us to buy a product or else...
It is also not unreasonable to decide that, when the Govt is throwing your tax money away, you might as well put on a catchers mitt until you can stop them.
I haven't heard Tomi complain about the part of Obamacare that allows children to stay on their parents' insurance plans for longer anywhere, it seems like she's more concerned about the move toward a single payer system. I don't see this as hypocritical personally, since this is one part of Obamacare that (in my opinion and I think hers as well), is pretty benign. I mean, she's still paying for her own coverage even if it's on a family plan (assuming she's reimbursing her parents for the cost of her added coverage), so it's not like she's mooching off the system or anything.
You mean the care plan she can stay on until she's 26 when she's very nearly 25 now? Yes, there's no possible way she'd end up being worse off in the long run.
@RamsayBolton, if she is kicked off her parents' health care, it is fair to assume that she most certainly will NOT be better off.
And so the unholy neconsevative/neoliberal alliance continues.
That still doesn't mean she supports it. She clearly doesn't. Not everyone is so selfish as to only support something based on how it affects them. And it's by no means certain that she'd be no better off if it's replaced anyway.
@RamsayBolton - Apples and oranges, my friend. She points out that the ACA has benefitted her, therefore she will not be any better off if it gets repealed. If a conservative firebrand such as Lahren can admit this, then the Trump administration should realize that there are legitimate problems that need addressing (i.e. education, racism, wealth gap, etc.) more so than the ACA.
This is fake news. Being on it and supporting it are two very different things. Americans are living under a Trump presidency - I guess that must mean they all support it by that "logic".
People really need to stop reading trash like the Huffington Post. The mainstream media is in a sorry state across the Western world, but in America it's about as bad as it gets.
