You should throw yourself into the ring. You should go into politics.
Donald Trump has at least proven you don't need to have a filter or care how others react to succeed in politics.
I am fairly certain some politicians make a difference, especially at a local level. Reagan ended the cold war which you were to young to remember and GWB made the world so safe we elected a guy with no credentials to be president. I can understand not wanting to go into politics, and agree most politicians don't really achieve much, but you should still consider it while you are young. Congress is an achievable goal, but a city counsel person is a good start.
@NateBlank If I learned anything in DC, it's that politicians don't really make a difference. This can be a good and bad thing (it does limit the damage someone can do!), but ultimately as someone who's goal-oriented, politics just isn't a path for me.
Fun maybe, but I was considering you actually being able to make a difference.
Ha you know what, that was the plan when I was younger! But I'm afraid I lack the necessary filter for politics. I tend to just say whatever I think, regardless of how people might react, and I know my opinions can be pretty polarizing. That, and my experience interning in DC showed me a side of politics that I really didn't care for. In any case, I think making fun of politicians is a lot more fun than being one :)
