What do you think about Trump's administration policing the CDC's language? Banning them from using "fetus," "evidence-based"... As a free speech advocate, I am conflicted by this.
Not sure why you'd be conflicted. Free speech goes for them too. It's important that they can use terms like science based and evidence based or anything that is being studied I mean if the banned the use if the F word than I would be conflicted too.Aurthur has a point the media is not doing a good job on reporting this story. Unverified sources I mean cone in Washington Post not making the MSM look good.
update: "Later on 17 December 2017, CDC director Dr. Brenda Fitzgerald tweeted that no words are banned:
Dr Brenda Fitzgerald
I want to assure you there are no banned words at CDC. We will continue to talk about all our important public health programs.
3:57 PM - Dec 17, 2017"
yeah, tbh, once i saw that the source was washpo, and then that the article was based on one person's unverified/unverifiable story i kinda knew it would be a damp squib.
the only thing keeping the old media somewhat honest was their reputation, and now they've lost that, and are trying to compete for eyeballs in a world they don't understand, they're digging themselves in to a deeper grave. which honestly is a shame.
What a relief. That's f*cked that the media would get this so wrong (probably intentionally).
