Hi Roaming Millennial.
I saw in a recent video you mentioned that you went to school at BYU for a little while. I am very interested in hearing more about that. I was raised Mormon, but I don't believe in the church, I'm more of a skeptic/Agnostic. I would love to hear more about your experiences there, as well as your thoughts and feelings of being in Utah (Which is Very Different from Mormons outside of Utah)

I made the mistake of coming out as an Agnostic/Atheist in High School in Utah County (Provo/Orem area) and had a very rough High School experience. Eventually I learned to simply say I'm Agnostic and I simply don't know enough about the church and people accepted that more than if they believe that you don't believe in the church. I've found most Mormons are really nice and innocent, even if a bit naive.

I respect the emphasis on Family, being a good person and doing good deeds, and personal responsibility, as well as the belief that your not responsible for the mistakes of your others only your own mistakes. The part of the church that I'm not a fan of is its history with Black and LGBT people, which seems to follow Civil Rights about ten years later. I like that the Church does change with the times. But I would love to hear your thoughts so please do a video.

@RoamingMillennial You should write (or video) about that exp on your site as part of your religion series just saying. I agree, is more like a cult just like the westboro guys too.

Ha oh boy, my thoughts about Mormonism and BYU are waaaay too long for a comment. Suffice it to say that I made some great Mormon friends while there, but overall, the culture was extremely hostile to me for not being Mormon, and I think Mormonism embodies a lot of very harmful attitudes and borders on a being a cult.
