Hi Roaming! Have you ever seen the movie (or read the book) Children of Men? It's absolutely excellent.
Not a perfect movie, but pretty intense with great visuals. Some plot holes and illogical moments during the chase were distracting, and a few scenes looked like they were crafted to impress film school friends, e.g. "trying too hard"...
Could you please go into a little more detail as to why you didn't like the movie? I think that (at least stylistically and technically) it's one of the most dazzling and impressive films ever made. Whether it's the 6 minute long-takes or the absurd amount of detail in the background, I really love it. I hope you'll give it a second viewing.
I've only seen the movie, which I didn't care for for stylistic/entertainment reasons, but I haven't read the book yet. I might check it out!
