I’m at Facing Race, Race Forward’s biennial conference. We’re in the beautiful, vibrant city of Detroit, with 3500 lovers of racial justice from across the country. I’ll be keeping a live tweet and reflections thread here throughout the weekend.
I’m looking forward to seeing many old friends and comrades. During breaks I’ll often at my table in the exhibition space, across from the registration area.
Here are some other spaces I’ll be speaking at:
Friday from 1-3, I’ll be closing out the two hour session of FRED talks, following wonderful speakers and performers on how we can unite people affected by mass criminalization.
Saturday morning, I’ll be reading from one of my books with Jeff Chang.
On Saturday afternoon I’m thrilled to be in a conversation with my friend Dawn-Lyen Gardner, who plays Charley Bordelon on the popular show Queen Sugar. We will explore the many things that are on our minds, and see what happens.
If you’re not at Facing Race, you can watch the live stream of plenaries here.
