Asylum Seekers Waiting at the Border

Hundreds of men, women and mostly children who have been traveling through Mexico to seek asylum in the United States reached the border in Tijuana last week. They met with legal advocates to evaluate whether they had solid cases for asylum status. More than 100 marched to the border yesterday, only to be turned away by U.S. Customs and Border Protection citing not enough space to process everyone.

From Al Jazeera:

A group of Central American refugees and migrants have arrived at the US border to seek asylum, but most were turned away.

US border officials told them that the processing facility is full.

They are part of a larger group of people who have spent a month travelling north through Mexico, drawing the anger of US President Donald Trump.
