5.19.19 - Curanderismo for the Community

Curanderismo has been a part of Southwest culture (and beyond) for centuries. Join GJ youth producers to learn more...

Have you ever visited a curandera? In this episode of Generation Justice, we speak to traditional healers and their students to learn more about the centuries-old practice of Curanderismo.

We hear from Nicole Baty and Alma Olavarria-Gallegos, two GJ members who learned principles of Curanderismo practice at the University of New Mexico. Then, Antoinette 'Tonita' Gonzales, an organizer and instructor for the course, tells us her journey to traditional healing and the ways we can heal ourselves with the knowledge of our ancestors. Don't miss it!
